Kieran studied fine art at Falmouth School of Art, and the colours, shapes and changing light of the Cornish coast and the Scilly Isles continue to inform and inspire his work. These evocative images fizzle with life and electric colour. Each work is a painterly expression of an individual and particular sense of place. Layers of oil paint are superimposed with fractured marks, dashes and splatters that capture the spirit of a continually changing landscape. The subject in these evocative paintings appears to be made up of several reference points, superimposed together rather than one single view. Each piece is more of a compilation of layered visual moments, inviting the viewer to consider the reality of how one experiences the world.
